Sliding drawer

You might have ever seen a menu panel that is open by sliding from the left side edge on many apps. You can make this kind of interface with Sliding drawers in Total launcher. There are totally 4 different sliding drawers for each side of the screen: left, right, top and bottom and you can enable each of them for your needs in Launcher options > UI & Animation.

Sliding drawer options

When you enable the left sliding drawer like in the above picture, you can pull out the drawer from the narrow invisible trigger area on the left edge of the screen.

Pulling out the drawer from the left side

Long press on the empty area of the drawer or press the edit button on the top to resize the width of it. You can change only the width for the left or right sliding drawer while only the height for the top or bottom sliding drawer. If you want to expand the drawer to the underneath of the system UI (status bar and navigation bar), turn on "Overlapped system UI" in Launcher options > UI & Animation.

Resizing sliding drawer

There are some options to change the background and to define the actions when it is open or closed. Press the options button on the bottom-left side of it while editing the size.

- Background : Background of the sliding drawer.

- Stretch background : Stretches the background image to fit the sliding drawer size ignoring the original aspect ratio of the image. When this option is off, the background image is crop to fit the window size keeping the aspect ratio of the image.

- Action on open : Set an action to invoke when the drawer is just open.

- Delay of action on open : Delay in milliseconds to invoke the action on open.

- Action on close : Set an action to invoke when the drawer gets closed.

- Delay of action on close : Delay in milliseconds to invoke the action on close.

If you feel the trigger area to pull it out is too narrow or not accessible, you can make another trigger area with the built-in widget, "Drawer handle". Put a drawer handle and set which side of sliding drawer it should work for. It will works as another trigger area to pull out the drawer.

Imagine It. Make It!

Total launcher is the most customizable launcher in Android world. Of course, it is still fast, light and easy to use if you blow away stereotypes about the launcher. Do you like a simple home? That's it. Do you like a beautiful home? That's it too. Do you like a smart home? Here is the solution. Is there no home launcher you want? Make it with this. Whatever you want for home, this is it. I would like to tell you just one phrase. "Press and hold it to edit it" You can customize it, whatever it is. The main features of this launcher are:

How to Customize Your Search Screen

There are 2 types of search screens in Total launcher, which are open by the launcher actions: App search and Contact search. App search screen Many users often ask me how to customize the design of these screens. So, I'd like to explain how to do it here.  You should know first how the launcher action (ex: App search) works. When you invoke the launcher action, the launcher tries to search a most top app drawer widget. If the launcher has found an app drawer widget, it would be used to show the search results. Otherwise, it opens the built-in window with an app drawer in the screenshot. As you guess out now, since you cannot change the design of the built-in window, you should make a your own window instead. Here's the steps for the solution. 1. make a new window. 2. put an app drawer widget onto it. 3. customize the design of the window and the widget. 4. set "Action on open" to the launcher action (App search) in the window options. 5. open the window for your own...
